Welcome back to The Amateur Society for another interesting philosophical conversation! We begin with the definition of solipsism before venturing into the territory of immediately difficult questions by considering whether or not we even exist. How would we think about a question like that? How do our worldviews come into play when examining these ideas? What levels of certainty can we attain in looking into various questions? This is a more technical episode, and it contains some valuable insight about our thought processes. Thanks again for joining us on The Amateur Society!
Welcome back to The Amateur Society for another discussion about relationships! In honor of Mother’s Day our conversation focuses on the importance and impact of motherhood with reflections on our own personal experiences as well as thoughts about the role of the mother in society. Many helpful thoughts arise about the bond between mother and child, how this precious relationship develops over time, and how key similarities connect our individual, diverse experiences. Thanks again for joining us on The Amateur Society!
When the Lord moved Cyrus to decree the rebuilding of the House of the Lord at Jerusalem not everyone returned from captivity to participate in that restoration. Only those who were stirred up, moved in their spirits by God, took part. The fullness of joy, beauty, power, and blessings that we require to make a difference in this generation will only be found when we are stirred by the Holy Spirit. Have we become closed off by our own desires and bickering from hearing that still small voice? Where is the overwhelming passion for the Lord and for what Jesus has done for us? Is your spirit stirred up today, or have the cares of this world weighed you down? Brothers and sisters, we must be filled anew and moved in our spirits for the sake of the generation around us that is perishing without God. Now is the time to have your enthusiasm for the Kingdom of God rekindled!
Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying,
Thus says Cyrus king of Persia:
All the kingdoms of the earth the Lord God of heaven has given me. And He has commanded me to build Him a house at Jerusalem which is in Judah. Who is among you of all His people? May his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem which is in Judah, and build the house of the Lord God of Israel (He is God), which is in Jerusalem. And whoever is left in any place where he dwells, let the men of his place help him with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, besides the freewill offerings for the house of God which is in Jerusalem.
Then the heads of the fathers’ houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites, with all whose spirits God had moved, arose to go up and build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem.
Join your host Steven Menking as he welcomes James Walton for another powerful roundtable discussing preparation and homesteading. Our conversation this month focuses on organization. What kinds of organization techniques work best? What happens when we aren’t organized in our preparation? How does cultivating these necessary skills help? How do you find what rhythm works best for you and your family? We hope you enjoy this valuable, practical conversation that can help you become more thoughtful and productive. Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles in partnership with Reliance! Did you know that Jesus prayed for you specifically in John 17? If you are a born again believer, then the prayer of Jesus focuses on you specifically. His desire is that we would be unified as a demonstration of the unity Jesus and the Father have as well as a testimony of our love for one another that shines forth out into the world. Because this level of unity will not arise out of the institutional church, it must arise organically and locally in the Body of Christ. We must come together to seek like-minded fellowship locally and not just via the intermediaries of online media programs. It’s time for us to step out in faith to find our fellow believers! The scriptures from this message are found in John 17, Acts 2, Psalms 133, and 1 Kings 19.

Join us On the Objective as your host Steven Menking welcomes back Chris Baucom of Remnant Radio Network for another conversation about walking out our Christian faith. We have an obligation to grow in our faith. None of us has reached a permanently elevated plateau. We can always go deeper into the Word and further with God. So why don’t we? Why does it seem that lethargy and apathy have stricken the body of Christ in this generation and prevented us from impacting our generation the way we need to. What can we do about this in our own lives, and how can the right pieces fall into place. We hope that the testimonies and perspectives shared here motivate you to grow and to pursue maturity in the Lord. Thanks for joining us On the Objective!
