Join us On the Objective as your host Steven Menking welcomes back Coach Dave Daubenmire to discuss the latest actions his ministry has taken to confront recent political actions taken that advance infanticide in our nation. Coach brings an impassioned perspective on the power of getting involved and standing against corruption and evil. The Kingdom of God will advance, and to further that goal we must understand and reclaim the model of Christian action from the book of acts. Thanks for joining us On the Objective!
Now is the time to walk in the power of the Lord and not in our own strength. Nothing else will do. Nothing else can reach this generation. Nothing else can bring true freedom. If there is not urgency in your heart for the Lord and a desire to seek the face of God, then now is the time to go to prayer and ask God to restore you and deliver you in the name of Jesus. To God be the glory for what He is about to do through His people.
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”
A tough situation plus a way out does not necessarily equal God wanting you to leave. Seek the Lord; His will for your life may be to stay the course. You never know who will be impacted and what the long term effects will be. Paul and Silas could have left the jail when the earthquake set them free, but they didn’t. A jailer and his family were saved. A church was started. Press in to God through the trials you are going through!
And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to keep them securely. Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks.
But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.”
Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized. Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household.
In our Christian walk we can get bitten even in our desire and effort to serve the Lord. After Paul’s shipwreck on the island of Malta, he was bitten by a snake. However, even in these moments we can and must believe in God and shake off the snakes. God will receive the glory when we remain calm and stay focused on the Lord. Click below and listen to some important insight through the Holy Spirit.
Now when they had escaped, they then found out that the island was called Malta. And the natives showed us unusual kindness; for they kindled a fire and made us all welcome, because of the rain that was falling and because of the cold. But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand. So when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live.” But he shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm. However, they were expecting that he would swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But after they had looked for a long time and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god.
Much ink has been spilled declaring and defining the time of trial and tribulation that is swiftly approaching and even – in many cases – already here. With your permission I would like to pass over all of our current background context in order to get directly to a point of exhortation that will hopefully encourage you in the Lord and strengthen you for the days to come.
The Holy Spirit has put it on my heart that there are a great number of people all around the world who understand that we are potentially on the precipice of dangerous scenarios that could affect all of us. Of this group, it feels as if many are discouraged and don’t see a way forward. For some the obstacles may be concrete and immediate, and for others it is the darkness of the horizon that is troubling.
So many feel helpless, alone, depressed, powerless, imprisoned, and fearful. Some feel incapable of making an impact even though they want to help change things for the better. Others feel unworthy of having their lives used to advance the Kingdom of God because of their past. Still others feel weak and oppressed by forces that are out of their control and don’t seem to ever let up.
It seems that the more outlandish those given to a charismatically influenced expression of Christianity become, the more those on the other end of the spectrum – most notably reformed believers – recoil and rebuff any talk of the present ministry and power of the Holy Spirit.
In my view both extremes are in error. Let me explain.
