Podcast: SER 180 – Joel Richardson – Mount Sinai In Arabia

2019.03.08

From Joel Richardson’s website we read:

Mount Sinai in Arabia presents a clear case in laymen’s terms for the true location of Mount Sinai.

The debate over where the true Mount Sinai is located goes back thousands of years. Since the popularization of the view that Jebel al-Lawz in Saudi Arabia is the real location by American explorers Ron Wyatt, Bob Cornuke and Jim and Penny Caldwell, the debate has only raged all the more.

With the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia presently building a mega-city known as Neom around this ancient mountain, Mount Sinai in Arabia highlights the many reasons why Jebel al-Lawz is by far the best candidate to be the true “Mountain of God.”

Podcast: On the Objective – Don’t Rejoice When Your Enemy Falls – Steven Menking – 02.24.2019

2019.02.24

Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles! In this message we look at what the Bible has to say about the proper reaction to the righteous judgment of God that creates calamities for the enemies of the Cross. The triumph of righteousness and justice is something that deserves celebration, but the Bible also cautions us to not be glad at calamities and to not rejoice when our enemies fall. What should our response be when we see God’s justice overcome His enemies? The scriptures from this message are found in Proverbs 17, Proverbs 24, and Amos 5.

Head To Foot – Pastor Tim Dilena – Times Square Church – 02.17.2019

Honesty

It is exhausting to attempt to be holy in our own strength. We must give it up and simply be honest with God! He already knows the thoughts we deal with, the struggles we face, and live in high definition. We deal with thousands of thoughts each day, and we must follow the scriptures to take them captive. Right after being miraculously delivered from Saul, David had a thought of defeat catch in his mind. He then fled into the land of Goliath, and worse yet he brought hundreds of people along with him. When we obey our thoughts instead of God we can be moved in the wrong direction and even take others with us. However, when the power of the Holy Spirit gives us the boldness to be honest we see freedom. In Ephesus the new Christians openly confessed their sins and cast into the fire their occult books and pagan connections. We will continue to fight these mind battles as long as we are in the flesh, but we must fight in the power of God and be honest and open one with another in maturity and faith.

And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.

Acts 19:18-20

Guest Post: The Purpose of Marriage – Pastor Mike Spaulding

GardenOfEden

The covenant of marriage is a testimony of love for God and the love a man and a woman share. It is a testimony to our love for God because He created marriage and said that it was good for a man to cleave to his wife.

The covenant of marriage has weathered a lot of storms over the many years since God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep, and from his side create woman whom Adam named Eve – the mother of all the living.

Marriage as God created it was never meant to be a burden or to create hardship. God’s design for marriage is that it becomes the standard bearer for what true companionship looks like.

What should be apparent to people and especially to Christians, is that companionship’s foundation is spiritual. That’s what Moses was describing when under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit he wrote: “For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.” (Genesis 3:24)

God’s reasoning is very clear – two is better than one.

Podcast: SER 175 – Doug Woodward – Rebooting the Bible

2019.01.30 ser

For five hundred years, the Church used this Old Testament Bible. Its Apostles quoted this Bible almost 300 times when they created the books of the New Testament. We know this Bible as the Greek Septuagint (LXX).

Its Pentateuch was created about 280 B.C. in Alexandria, Egypt, only 200 years after the Hebrew Bible had been assembled by Ezra in Jerusalem. Translators added the remaining books over the next 150 years. Once finished, Greek-speaking Jews throughout the world relied on the LXX as the Hebrew language grew increasingly unfamiliar. The Church Fathers (e.g., Polycarp, Irenaeus, and Justin Martyr) quoted it extensively since they did not know Hebrew. However, after the Latin Vulgate became the accepted Bible of the Western Church during the fifth and sixth centuries, and Greek ceased as the “lingua franca” of the world, the LXX receded into the background. Only the Eastern Orthodox Church retained it as its Bible.

Podcast: On the Objective – Don’t Go Another Moment Without Forgiveness – Steven Menking – 01.14.2019

2019.01.14

Forgiveness is absolutely essential to the walk of any Christian. It is by the grace of God and the sacrifice of the cross that we are able to receive eternal forgiveness for sins. Jesus clearly instructs us through parables and directly that forgiveness towards one another is not optional. Harboring unforgiveness, bitterness, and anger leaves a door for the enemy to march through and harms our effectiveness for the Kingdom of God and our testimonies. I pray that the Holy Spirit would bring something or someone to mind that you need to ask forgiveness from or provide forgiveness to during this broadcast. Take that step toward forgiveness and watch what God will do! We read through Psalm 51 as well as portions of Matthew 18, 1 Peter 4, and Matthew 5.
