Guest Post: Bill Chapman – Smells Like Teen Brains

Hogg

Margaret Mead, a famous anthropologist once said “Children should be taught how to think, not what to think.” In the 1930s, Adolf Hitler utilized the young people of Germany as propaganda puppets in order to communicate his vision for Germany. These young people were part of a group called “Hitler Youth.” This group of young people ages 13-18, were part of a master plan concocted by an evil dictator to capture the hearts and minds of a country through an indoctrination plan. The plan consisted of subverting the political discourse of the day with messages and demonstrations that supported the Nazi regime and its viewpoints.  Hitler believed that the key to the longevity of the Nazi movement was convincing a generation of young people that they were being patriotic by advancing these ideas of Nazi dominance and the need to exterminate lesser populations. Hitler believed that by using young people as the ministers for this warped theology as time moved forward, there would be a lasting impact on society as a whole.

Fast forward to current day America. A mass shooting happens in a school in south Florida. The media is quick to amplify the voices of a select group of teenagers involved above and beyond those of other teenagers involved who are not so eager to push a narrative. Overnight this group of carefully chosen teenage mouthpieces are shepherded into a national spotlight and become instant poster children for a movement dedicated to removing weapons from the hands of Americans.

Celebrities rushed in with adulation and hard cash to crown this new clique of young people as the voice of all American youth demanding gun control. Millions of willing teenage followers jumped on the gun control bandwagon in what is in essence a global game of “Simon Says.”

Guest Post: The New Age Of Entertainment – Bill Chapman

Hollywood

From its earliest days, Hollywood had a purpose. A singular purpose consisting of many shades of the same color. Promote ideas. Influence the masses. Normalize the abnormal. Beginning with the pioneers of motion pictures Eastman and Lumiere, billions and billions of dollars have flowed in and out of Hollywood resulting in the production tens of thousands of films and television shows shoveled out to the masses for consumption. The people have always sought an escape from the reality of their own lives, and Hollywood has always been there waiting with something for everyone. Genres to include action films that glorify violence, science fiction films that explore the possibilities of an altered reality, and the feel good romantic “chick-flicks” that portray the ins and outs of modern-day relationships are chock full of effective propaganda messages meant to change the viewers mind about a whole host of social and moral topics.

Guest Post: The Anatomy of a Lie – Bill Chapman

HaabTucker

Colton Haab, a junior at Marjorie Stoneman Douglass High School in Parkland, Florida; went to school on February 14, 2018 having no idea how his life and many of the students and faculty at the school would be changed forever that day. A young man named Nikolas Cruz allegedly entered the school with an assault rifle and began sending rounds downrange and taking the lives of 17 people. The eyes of the world were immediately focused on the tragedy at a school with an enrollment of 3000 plus students. The mainstream media scrambled to put together facts. The general public rushed to develop theories and conclusions about what happened based on facts put out by the media. The days after the shooting would be filled with a volley of information bombs sent back and forth over the heads of the public at large between the media and the truther movement as to what really happened and who was really responsible.

Guest Post: To LARP Or Not To LARP? Q Is The Question – Bill Chapman

QAnon

LARP (Live Action Role Play): a type of role-playing game where the participants physically portray their characters. The players pursue goals within a fictional setting represented by the real world while interacting with each other in character.

In late October 2017, a mysterious anonymous person began posting cryptic yet intriguing statements and questions on a wide range of topics to the little known dark web board known as /pol/ . Everything from the use of military intelligence, to insinuations about elected officials, to the distrust of the CIA, FBI, and DOJ were addressed in these early posts. The long and short of the early posts made by the person or persons who would eventually become identified as “Q,” is that America is in trouble, and we need a group of anonymous participants on an obscure message board to help. A group of people with specific abilities to solve incredibly complex puzzles. A group of people with common qualities such as skepticism, pithiness, the ability to think critcally, debate openly, and arrive at conclusions in a collective hive of minds. A group of people who will stay focused for hours upon hours until a solution to a problem is found.  This group of people has come to be known as the Anons.
