Heaven’s View Of Our Failures – Pastor Carter Conlon – Times Square Church – 10.28.2018

Job

We know that we have failed. The enemy knows that we have failed. God knows that we have failed. How are these failures viewed? As born again believers we can still feel condemnation. The accuser will continue to accuse. But what does God say? In Numbers 22 the people of Israel are wandering in the desert amidst many failures. Nonetheless, when Balaam is asked to curse them he is overpowered by God who proclaims blessing, victory, and honor despite the previous, grievous shortfalls. We must press in to God and pray always that we would see ourselves how God sees us. Jesus is mightier than our accuser. He lives, reigns, and intercedes for us! Despite our failures, he will give us the faith, power, and righteousness that we so desperately need. Go with God today!

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Ephesians 6:10-13

Podcast: The Amateur Society – When Should We Concede? – 10.29.2018

Resign

Welcome back to The Amateur Society for a conversation about when to concede. Typically this word invokes images of quitting and giving up, but the definition belies more nuanced scenarios. We explore what it means to concede by looking at the more structured example of a chess match before turning to personal, subjective circumstances. There are times when conceding is appropriate and even necessary. How we deal with these moments will depend on how well we examine our worldviews on an ongoing basis. Podcast: The Amateur Society – Understanding Disappointment – 07.16.2018

disappointment

Welcome back to The Amateur Society for a conversation about disappointment. We all deal with failure and disappointment during our lives, so it’s helpful to understand the dynamics a bit more. Starting with the dictionary definition the group discusses the experience of disappointment and how it can be either a negative or a positive depending on the time frame, context, and attitude that we have towards it. Ultimately we examine how worldview comes into the consideration. Thanks again for joining us on The Amateur Society!

Pastor Mike Spaulding: The Church And Its Mission Today – Part 1

brokenpulpit

America is being led into a cesspool of deviancy and America’s pastors remain largely silent. For those of us who have been calling attention to the rank immorality that daily seems to increasingly encroach upon the shores of common sense and moral sensibleness, this is not surprising.

Few pastors said a word when contemplative prayer, labyrinth walking, yoga, word faith heresy, and many other misguided and unbiblical practices were introduced into the church by goats masquerading as sheep. While these things demonstrate a tragic departure from the faith once for all delivered to the saints, today we are facing a full on frontal assault from our politicians.
