Guest Post: It Is Time To Engage the Enemy – Pastor Mike Spaulding

This article by Pastor Mike Spaulding was originally published on Capitol Hill Outsider:

Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8

We are at war. No I’m not talking about the Military Industrial Complex’s insatiable hunger for profiteering at the expense of American men and women’s lives. I’m not talking about the escalating conflict between the various political factions and their comic stooges played out in the news cycle day after day. I’m not even talking about the globalists and their open borders agenda for the destruction of American national sovereignty.  I’m talking about a much more devastating war with eternal consequences. The war between the fallen ones and our great God that is raging all around us.

Shipwrecked Under His Sovereignty – Pastor Claude Houde – 05.05.2019

Even when we are caught in a spiritual shipwreck we are still under God’s sovereignty. Even when we endure trials and hardships that occur when our counsel is ignored we must maintain the peace of God. Even when we don’t understand all the reasons and timing behind our shipwreck we serve a faithful Lord. Even when it appears that we are in an unexpected place where hope appears lost we are being prepared for the miraculous. Be nourished by the word of God and the promise that our trial will become our testimony. Jesus is no stranger to shipwreck, and Jesus is no stranger to the miraculous. It’s time to walk by faith brothers and sisters. Get up and go forward again in Christ with boldness and newness of purpose.

Now when they had escaped, they then found out that the island was called Malta. And the natives showed us unusual kindness; for they kindled a fire and made us all welcome, because of the rain that was falling and because of the cold. But when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks and laid them on the fire, a viper came out because of the heat, and fastened on his hand. So when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, “No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he has escaped the sea, yet justice does not allow to live.” But he shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm. However, they were expecting that he would swell up or suddenly fall down dead. But after they had looked for a long time and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds and said that he was a god.

Remember The Prisoners – Pastor Carter Conlon – Times Square Church – 04.28.2019

Jesus tells us to love our enemies. This requires supernatural strength and faith. Moreover, it requires a heavenly perspective. The enemies of the cross are in a merciless prison. Just because some of the cells in this prison have an appearance of comfort only makes the incarceration all the more insidious. We are called to a love that stretches so far beyond our abilities that in our own mind we can’t even conceptualize it. God will give us the faith that we need to fulfill this commandment. It doesn’t mean we roll over. It doesn’t mean we don’t stand for God. It doesn’t mean we yield the battlefield to the enemy. It means we know why we are called into this spiritual battle. The enemies of the Lord are still in the prisons that we ourselves were once in. The cross of Christ is available for all. Many will refuse the free gift of salvation, but when we remember the prisoners it should motive us to get our strength exclusively from God.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Matthew 5:43-48

Podcast: On the Objective – Rebuilding The Old Ruins – Steven Menking – 05.10.2019

Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles in partnership with Reliance! We have been saved and called into service of the Kingdom of God. There is a task at hand of monumental importance in this generation. The mission is to preach the gospel and to bring in a harvest to our deserving God. Will we allow this generation to perish spiritually on our watch, or will we receive the anointing to rebuild the old ruins? Do not fall prey to the voices that screech endlessly about the inevitable triumph of evil. The choice is ours. Will we stand in this moment? What will you do? The scriptures from this message are found in Isaiah 61.
