Podcast: On the Objective – Kanye West, Christianity, And Collaboration – Coach Dave Daubenmire – 10.31.2019

2019.10.31

Join us On the Objective as your host Steven Menking welcomes back Coach Dave Daubenmire of Coach Dave Live for a discussion about the current state of affairs in the Body of Christ! Kanye West’s recent conversion to Christianity and outspoken faith have provided us with an opportunity to reflect on the call that the Lord has placed on our live to be effective in this generation for the sake of His Kingdom. More generally, why is it that we don’t see more cooperation and coordination among Christian ministries on key issues? We seem to still be using the measurement systems of the world rather than those of God: obedience, faithfulness, and contentment. We hope that you enjoy this discussion and that you share it with someone who would benefit from it. Thanks for joining us On the Objective!

A Prayer Meeting Outside Of Sodom – Pastor Carter Conlon – Times Square Church – 10.27.2019

Abraham

The Lord’s promises will be fulfilled! Abraham had to wait twenty five years prior to the visitation from God where the promise of a son would be delivered. Once we have exhausted our own resources and come to a place of humility Jesus will have made us ready to receive His promises in a way that only He will get the glory. After this promise Abraham had a chance to intercede for Sodom and Gomorrah. He prayed that the Lord would not destroy the people for the sake of the righteous, and God agreed that He would spare them for the sake of ten righteous people. But Abraham stopped there. He could have continued. He could have asked the Lord to send him into the city. Perhaps the same scenario that unfolded with Jonah and Nineveh would have taken place. Perhaps revival could have broken out. Even when we receive our promises we must retain a fervency to see the mercy of God shown to the people of this generation. The heart of the Lord is to save! God forbid we cease to press in until the full victory is won. Jesus save billions in this generation!

Then the Lord appeared to him by the terebinth trees of Mamre, as he was sitting in the tent door in the heat of the day. So he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, three men were standing by him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the ground, and said, “My Lord, if I have now found favor in Your sight, do not pass on by Your servant. Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree. And I will bring a morsel of bread, that you may refresh your hearts. After that you may pass by, inasmuch as you have come to your servant.”

They said, “Do as you have said.”

So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah and said, “Quickly, make ready three measures of fine meal; knead it and make cakes.” And Abraham ran to the herd, took a tender and good calf, gave it to a young man, and he hastened to prepare it. So he took butter and milk and the calf which he had prepared, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree as they ate.

Then they said to him, “Where is Sarah your wife?”

So he said, “Here, in the tent.”

And He said, “I will certainly return to you according to the time of life, and behold, Sarah your wife shall have a son.”

(Sarah was listening in the tent door which was behind him.) Now Abraham and Sarah were old, well advanced in age; and Sarah had passed the age of childbearing. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, “After I have grown old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?”

And the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I surely bear a child, since I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.”

But Sarah denied it, saying, “I did not laugh,” for she was afraid.

And He said, “No, but you did laugh!”

Then the men rose from there and looked toward Sodom, and Abraham went with them to send them on the way. And the Lord said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice, that the Lord may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him.” And the Lord said, “Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave, I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry against it that has come to Me; and if not, I will know.”

Then the men turned away from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham still stood before the LordAnd Abraham came near and said, “Would You also destroy the righteous with the wicked? Suppose there were fifty righteous within the city; would You also destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous that were in it? Far be it from You to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?”

So the Lord said, “If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.”

Then Abraham answered and said, “Indeed now, I who am but dust and ashes have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord: Suppose there were five less than the fifty righteous; would You destroy all of the city for lack of five?”

So He said, “If I find there forty-five, I will not destroy it.

And he spoke to Him yet again and said, “Suppose there should be forty found there?”

So He said, “I will not do it for the sake of forty.”

Then he said, “Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: Suppose thirty should be found there?”

So He said, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.”

And he said, “Indeed now, I have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord: Suppose twenty should be found there?”

So He said, “I will not destroy it for the sake of twenty.”

Then he said, “Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak but once more: Suppose ten should be found there?”

And He said, “I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.” So the Lord went His way as soon as He had finished speaking with Abraham; and Abraham returned to his place.

Podcast: On the Objective – Kanye West: Jesus Is King – Steven Menking – 10.26.2019

2019.10.26

Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles in partnership with Reliance! Kanye West just released an album called Jesus Is King. Just seeing those words trending was a blessing, but is all of this real? My encouragement to believers at this moment is to avoid the traps of limiting what God can do in this generation, using the world’s measurement systems, and becoming intransigent in cynicism. I believe that the Holy Spirit is on the move, the name of Jesus is being lifted up, and the Lord of the Harvest is sending forth laborers. We hope you enjoy this discussion! The scriptures from this message are found in Proverbs 18, Habakkuk 1, and Acts 9.

Celebrating 25 Years – Pastor Carter Conlon – Times Square Church

St Joseph

At Times Square Church we celebrated 25 years with Pastor Carter Conlon in leadership this past Sunday. Pastor Carter delivered a powerful word about God’s faithfulness and the confidence that He has in the Lord because of His marvelous holiness. The testimony of God, the authority of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit are available to all those who would come to the cross, seek first the Kingdom of God, and acknowledge Jesus as the worthy Lord that He is. Follow God! He will always be faithful to you. Continue on not in your strength but through the power of the Lord. We are so grateful for what God wants to do in the lives of each and every one of His people. Now is the critical time in this generation, and it hinges on you. Will you be used of God through His grace?

O God, do not be far from me;
O my God, make haste to help me!
Let them be confounded and consumed
Who are adversaries of my life;
Let them be covered with reproach and dishonor
Who seek my hurt.

But I will hope continually,
And will praise You yet more and more.
My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness
And Your salvation all the day,
For I do not know their limits.
I will go in the strength of the Lord God;
I will make mention of Your righteousness, of Yours only.

O God, You have taught me from my youth;
And to this day I declare Your wondrous works.
Now also when I am old and grayheaded,
O God, do not forsake me,
Until I declare Your strength to this generation,
Your power to everyone who is to come.

Psalm 71:12-18

Who Are You? – Pastor Nick Cassidy – Times Square Church – 10.13.2019

Sceva

We need to stand in the strength of our own experiences with the power of the Lord. Do not misunderstand: everything must line up with the Word of God. However, we cannot rest our faith exclusively on what God did with previous generations of His servants. The belief and behavior of our forefathers in the faith is important, but we have to know for ourselves who we are in Christ. What has Jesus done in transforming your heart? What has He kept you through? How great has His love and forgiveness been towards you? We must be given to the work of the kingdom and given for the harvest. Religious impotency and powerless institutions have surrendered the field to evil. Only those who know who they are in Christ can reclaim the lost territory!

Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so.

And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?”

Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.

Acts 19:13-20

Podcast: On the Objective – The Heart Of The Harvest – Steven Menking – 10.16.2019

2019.10.16

Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles in partnership with Reliance! We must know – both from scripture and from our own experience – the heart of the Lord. Jesus was moved with compassion when he saw the multitudes weary and scattered. God desires repentance and salvation even for the wicked. In this generation when we have an opportunity to participate in the largest harvest for the Kingdom of God in history many Christians are being rendered less effective because they are overwhelmed by anger at the evil and injustice that has taken place. Zeal is important, but when we undertake initiatives that aren’t primarily in line with God’s heart of compassion we will stumble. The scriptures from this message are found in Matthew 9, 1 John 2, Psalm 37, Ezekiel 18, and Psalm 50.
