OtO 355: Well Done My Son – Steven Menking

Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles in partnership with Reliance! Very shortly I will be blessed with a son. This will mark a new season in my life, and in this time of transition I have reflected on the faithfulness of God and on my amplified responsibility as a soon to be father of two. God’s promises are secure, and He will give me the wisdom, the faith, and the strength to raise my children in the way they should go. There is nothing I desire more than to hear Jesus speak the words “well done thou good and faithful servant” over my daughter and my son on the Day of the Lord when they will stand before their Savior without me. Let us never lose sight of God’s faithfulness and the eternal nature of His promises. The scriptures in this broadcast are from Psalms 105.

When Your Prayers Have No More Words – Pastor Carter Conlon – TSC Prayer Meeting – 04.20.2021

When there is nothing left for us to express in prayer, when our strength and articulation have been totally used up, when the voice of God has still not responded, a prayer without words can rise up. God already knows what we are asking for and what we need. If we will cry out and experience a groaning of heart for the glory of God then dramatic, generation changing answers will come. Will we pledge ourselves to the Lord with fervency and dedication in this moment? How desperate are we for the power of God to come, for massive salvations to happen, and for the name of Jesus to be glorified?

How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever?
How long will You hide Your face from me?
How long shall I take counsel in my soul,
Having sorrow in my heart daily?
How long will my enemy be exalted over me?

Consider and hear me, O Lord my God;
Enlighten my eyes,
Lest I sleep the sleep of death;
Lest my enemy say,
“I have prevailed against him”;
Lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

But I have trusted in Your mercy;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
Because He has dealt bountifully with me.

Psalm 13:1-6

OtO 354: The Promise Of God – Steven Menking

Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles in partnership with Reliance! The promises of the Lord are true, faithful, and eternal. The time it will take between now and the fulfillment of all of God’s promises is finite, but the time we will have with the Lord after they are fulfilled will be infinite. This is impossible for us to fully grasp, but we are justified in relying on the Word of God and on His promises. God will prove Himself faithful in all things. The next time you encounter a promise of God in scripture, please take some time to reflect on it. Each and every one of God’s promises can radically transform our lives if we really understood and applied them. The scriptures in this broadcast are from 1 Thessalonians 4.

OtO 352: Jesus Is Victorious – Steven Menking

Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles in partnership with Reliance! In this season when Christians celebrate Jesus’ cross, atoning death, and vindicating resurrection let us always be reminded of the astonishing nature of what He has done for us. Jesus is absolutely and irrevocably victorious, and nothing will ever remove Him from His throne. Let us run the race that is set before us with all the strength and faith God will provide brothers and sisters. Jesus deserves a harvest in this generation. Let us all be a part of it, and when it comes time for us to go into His Kingdom let us be greeted with an abundant entrance. The scriptures in this broadcast are from Psalms 22 and 1 Peter 1.

Taking The Lamb Out Of The Mouth Of The Lion – Pastor Carter Conlon – TSC Prayer Meeting – 03.23.2021

Before David ruled Israel, before he slew Goliath, before he was a mighty warrior he delivered a lamb from the mouth of a lion as a shepherd. We must cling to everything that the Lord has given us. Life, salvation, precious promises, and so much more. The voice of discouragement from the enemy is such a lion in this generation, and we must refuse to give way to such voices. You have a testimony, you have a resource, you have the Word of God, you have Jesus! The Lord will empower you to walk out the victories that God wants to lead you into. The voice of discouragement is a lie, the still small voice of God is the truth. Win a spiritual battle for the Lord in your life today. All glory to Jesus!

And Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.”

But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.”

And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!”

1 Samuel 17:33-37

OtO 351: Not Many Wise – Steven Menking

Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles in partnership with Reliance! In this episode we explore the dynamic of salvation where God focuses on the weak, the poor, and the feeble as the primary recipients of the Gospel. This is antithetical to the style of religion that is engineered by man, and it is not simply an opiate for the masses constructed to preserve dominant power hierarchies. Rather, it is the truth, of infinitely more worth than any scheme the brightest mind of man can concoct. The inaccuracies in the prevailing worldview of our day are fundamentally misguided. We must be content to be counted among those who are looked down upon as superstitious and backwards. The scriptures in this broadcast are from 1 Corinthians 1.

Why Exactly Do We Want An Awakening – Pastor Carter Conlon – TSC Prayer Meeting – 03.16.2021

Why are we asking for a spiritual awakening in this generation? Is it just to preserve ourselves and the lukewarm gospel of prosperity that has been present in American pulpits for several decades? At a certain point in time the Lord will defend His own name. Are we tired of the name of Jesus being trampled on and brought low in this generation? Is God able to glorify His name once more in this generation? There is a declaration against the people of God that echoes the taunt of Goliath: you will serve us. Pray without ceasing! Jesus will be glorified!

Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.”

1 Samuel 17:45-47

Let’s Talk About Sin – Pastor Carter Conlon – TSC Prayer Meeting – 03.09.2021

Sin must be an urgent priority for all Christians. Leaving it unaddressed, even if doing so would spare us some pain, discomfort, or sorrow, is never the right option. All of us must ask the Lord to continually search our hearts. Holy Spirit show us what needs to change, give us the faith to lay it all down before you in repentance, and give us a vision of what we are intended to become. A hallmark of maturity is a greater sensitivity to sin, a greater humility with respect to our dependence on God’s righteousness, and a shortened time frame between awareness of sin and repentance. All of us must adjust in order that our walks with God would be amplified in every way.

Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?”

And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ”

Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?”

So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”

And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?”

Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.”

And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?”

The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”

So the Lord God said to the serpent:

“Because you have done this,
You are cursed more than all cattle,
And more than every beast of the field;
On your belly you shall go,
And you shall eat dust
All the days of your life.
And I will put enmity
Between you and the woman,
And between your seed and her Seed;
He shall bruise your head,
And you shall bruise His heel.”

To the woman He said:

“I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception;
In pain you shall bring forth children;
Your desire shall be for your husband,
And he shall rule over you.”

Genesis 3:1-16
