Podcast: On the Objective – We Need Spiritual Resources – Steven Menking – 04.17.2020

04.17.2020

Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles in partnership with Reliance! This is the time to let the Holy Spirit speak to us from the Word of God. I pray that the Lord would quicken the Bible as we listen to portions of Paul’s second letter to the church in Corinth. We must go to the Lord for spiritual resources at this time. God must fill us with faith and love in order for us to fulfill the callings of God on us in this generation. Lord bring about your harvest! The scriptures from this episode are from 2 Corinthians.

Podcast: On the Objective – The Lord Of The Harvest – Steven Menking – 02.21.2020

02.21.2020

Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles in partnership with Reliance! Continuing our theme of Harvest Time we look to the Lord of the Harvest. Who is the God who we serve? Why aren’t we properly engaged with Heaven’s agenda at this critical moment. Let’s look at prophetic words written centuries before Jesus was incarnated to see the humility and tenderness of His victory, the boldness and power of His might, and the urgency and the conviction of His call. Bless the holy name of the Lord Jesus! He is altogether worthy of our obedience at all times! The scriptures from this episode are from Isaiah 51, Isaiah 53, and Isaiah 55.

The Food Of Faith Is Love – Pastor Nick Cassidy – Times Square Church – 01.26.2020

Cross

God has called us to a vulnerable love for others. This is plainly not possible without the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit quickening our hearts day by day and moment by moment. Ultimately the harvest that Jesus deserves in this generation will be reaped by a love that refuses to back down. Indeed what is the proper response to the majesty of our God if not a radically obedient love? This world has warped our understanding of love. Please Lord restore us and set us free from the prison of uncaring, unforgiving, and unloving. Set our hearts on eternity! Give us a renewed sensitivity to the needs of everyone, especially to the body of Christ. Let one more obstacle to the harvest fall as our stony hearts give way. Let the abundant life of love powered by Jesus Christ arise in us!

For the earth which drinks in the rain that often comes upon it, and bears herbs useful for those by whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from God; but if it bears thorns and briers, it is rejected and near to being cursed, whose end is to be burned.

But, beloved, we are confident of better things concerning you, yes, things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner. For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Hebrews 6:7-12

Podcast: On the Objective – The Heart Of The Harvest – Steven Menking – 10.16.2019

2019.10.16

Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles in partnership with Reliance! We must know – both from scripture and from our own experience – the heart of the Lord. Jesus was moved with compassion when he saw the multitudes weary and scattered. God desires repentance and salvation even for the wicked. In this generation when we have an opportunity to participate in the largest harvest for the Kingdom of God in history many Christians are being rendered less effective because they are overwhelmed by anger at the evil and injustice that has taken place. Zeal is important, but when we undertake initiatives that aren’t primarily in line with God’s heart of compassion we will stumble. The scriptures from this message are found in Matthew 9, 1 John 2, Psalm 37, Ezekiel 18, and Psalm 50.

Podcast: On the Objective – Maturing In Christ To Brotherly Love – Pastor Mike Spaulding – 10.02.2019

2019.10.02

Welcome back On the Objective as your host Steven Menking sits down with Pastor Mike Spaulding for another important conversation about spiritual maturity. The teachings of scripture are plain concerning how we are to treat our brothers and sisters in Christ. Our love for one another should be supernatural in origin and evidence to a dying world of the power of God in our lives. Tragically, when many look upon the body of Christ from the outside they see bickering, argument, trifling, and the works of the flesh. We must dedicate ourselves to growing in maturity so that the true power and authority of Christ will be evident in our lives. Thanks again for joining us On the Objective!

Podcast: On the Objective – Powerful Parenting Principles – Jordan Smith – 06.10.2019

2019.06.10

Join your host Steven Menking as he welcomes Jordan Smith of the A Family Affair podcast on Prepper Broadcasting Network for her first solo broadcast here On the Objective! Jordan has participated in several homesteading roundtables, and in this discussion she brings her experience in parenting to a discussion about critical principles for parenting in this generation. So much of every parent’s experience is unique, and our mindset needs to have the right focus if we are going to avoid the pitfalls that so many step into. We have to do right by our children and grandchildren, and even if you are an experienced parent we hope that you will learn from this conversation and take steps to improve your relationships with your family.

Guest Post: The Purpose of Marriage – Pastor Mike Spaulding

GardenOfEden

The covenant of marriage is a testimony of love for God and the love a man and a woman share. It is a testimony to our love for God because He created marriage and said that it was good for a man to cleave to his wife.

The covenant of marriage has weathered a lot of storms over the many years since God caused Adam to fall into a deep sleep, and from his side create woman whom Adam named Eve – the mother of all the living.

Marriage as God created it was never meant to be a burden or to create hardship. God’s design for marriage is that it becomes the standard bearer for what true companionship looks like.

What should be apparent to people and especially to Christians, is that companionship’s foundation is spiritual. That’s what Moses was describing when under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit he wrote: “For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.” (Genesis 3:24)

God’s reasoning is very clear – two is better than one.

The Mark Of The Godly – Pastor Carter Conlon – Times Square Church – 02.10.2019

DayOfTheLord

Malachi writes that in the last days the hearts of the children will turn to the fathers and the hearts of the fathers will turn to the children. Acts 15 records how Paul viewed Mark as unfit for service. Paul’s zeal led him to break with his friends, and he wasn’t able to extend grace to Mark. Over the course of his walk, Paul encountered Timothy, his spiritual son, and the Lord continued to transform Paul’s heart. Finally, toward the end of his life, Paul calls upon Mark to be brought again as valuable for ministry. The tenderness of God and the mercy of Christ had taken hold of his heart. When Jesus wants to move in our lives, He will continue to present opportunities even when we fail. We must press in to the Lord now and ask for our hearts to be turned to those around us. If you have ever written someone off or been written off by someone, then today is the day of reconciliation!

“For behold, the day is coming,
Burning like an oven,
And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble.
And the day which is coming shall burn them up,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“That will leave them neither root nor branch.
But to you who fear My name
The Sun of Righteousness shall arise
With healing in His wings;
And you shall go out
And grow fat like stall-fed calves.
You shall trample the wicked,
For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet
On the day that I do this,
Says the Lord of hosts.

“Remember the Law of Moses, My servant,

Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel,
With the statutes and judgments.
Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet
Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
And he will turn
The hearts of the fathers to the children,
And the hearts of the children to their fathers,
Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”

Malachi 4:1-6

Podcast: SER 151 – Chad Schafer – Loving One Another

Chad-Schafer2

In our day one of the hardest things to do is love one another. The body of Christ faces enough challenges without one of the major ones being the hostility of Christians toward one another.

In this episode of SER my friend Chad Schafer and I have a conversation about a most important topic – the lack of love and respect many believers routinely show to other believers.
