Quietness And Confidence In Your Storm – Pastor Carter Conlon – Times Square Church – 09.08.2019

Storm

We all face challenges. Sometimes they are grueling and intense. In the midst of a storm it is the Lord’s presence and His Word that sustains and uplifts us. Every so often we need a reminder that our God is more powerful than any storm. He is the one who calms the ways. We must be thankful and joyful in the presence of God. Our Lord is faithful, and He has made promises to us. A storm will either be an occasion for doubt or an occasion for faith to triumph. No matter what you are facing today know that the Lord is your refuge. Jesus is there for you! Thank the Lord for the strength that He provides to endure.

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.
For the Lord is the great God,
And the great King above all gods.
In His hand are the deep places of the earth;
The heights of the hills are His also.
The sea is His, for He made it;
And His hands formed the dry land.

Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.
For He is our God,
And we are the people of His pasture,
And the sheep of His hand.

Today, if you will hear His voice:
“Do not harden your hearts, as in the [c]rebellion,
As in the day of trial in the wilderness,
When your fathers tested Me;
They tried Me, though they saw My work.
For forty years I was grieved with that generation,
And said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts,
And they do not know My ways.’
So I swore in My wrath,
‘They shall not enter My rest.’ ”

Psalm 95:1-11

Pushing Back This Present Darkness – Pastor Carter Conlon – Times Square Church – 01.27.2019

peter

We sow what we reap. We sow later than when we reap. We sow more than what we reap. New York now openly celebrates infanticide in a flagrant way. This is one more horrifying extension of the original lie: because we are created in the image of God we can determine right and wrong. Spiritual wickedness is responsible for the deterioration of our moral standing. We must understand the nature of the darkness we are facing and the power of God to transform each and every situation at every level. We must come home to the Lord at this time or risk being swept aside by this torrent of darkness rather than being part of the standard that God will raise up against it. God is not mocked, but he is longsuffering. Many think that they are getting away with grievous offenses against the Lord. Many others have fallen to the delusions perpetrated in this generation. Jesus strengthen our faith! Transform our hearts and minds! Prepare us for what is to come!

Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.

Acts 2:38-41

The Promise Of Power – Pastor Carter Conlon – Times Square Church – 07.08.2018

Pentecost

God has promised to indwell us with the power of the Holy Spirit. All of us must cry out for this power not for our own sake alone but for those around us. We need the power to see and love as Christ sees and loves. We need the power to pray and to witness in this generation. We need supernatural power to live supernatural lives. Without this power we will not be able to walk in the peace and joy of the Lord despite trial and turmoil. In order to receive this power, we have to spend time with God through His word. Jesus open our eyes to what you have for us. Lord we thank you and bless you for your mercy and goodness. God will transform us should we ask and seek with humble hearts. Come, let us reason together. Are you walking every day in the power that God wants to give you to bring glory to His name and to advance the Kingdom of God?

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.” So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?”

Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.”

But Peter, standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words. For these are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day. But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

‘And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God,
That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your young men shall see visions,
Your old men shall dream dreams.
And on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days;
And they shall prophesy.
I will show wonders in heaven above
And signs in the earth beneath:
Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.
The sun shall be turned into darkness,
And the moon into blood,
Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord.
And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the Lord
Shall be saved.’

Acts 2:1-21

A Thief In A Parking Lot – Pastor Carter Conlon – Times Square Church – 07.02.2017

JesusTempted.jpg

A powerful message and a unique sermon where Mike Tyson is quoted!

“Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”

There is a lie that the enemy tells us: that we can’t overpower him. Sometimes our bondage feels so certain and fixed that it is almost impossible to fathom that it could ever be lifted. Chronic sickness and physical problems are like this. There is seemingly no escape. We can feel alone and powerless. But Satan is the father of lies. We have power through Jesus Christ our Savior not only to hold off the onslaught of the enemy but more importantly to chase him out of our lives, our families, and our societies. God is stronger. The devil can’t keep what he has stolen from you. The name of Jesus is above every name. We have power. Woe to us if we sit in mediocrity and powerlessness any longer. For the sake of the lost and all those suffering without – and even with – Christ. Press in to God. Do not be content. God wants you to walk in spiritual power. Fight back against the darkness. Now is the time. Glory to God!

Now I, Paul, myself am pleading with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you. But I beg you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

2 Corinthians 10:1-6

A Last Day Return to Power – Pastor Carter Conlon – Times Square Church – 05.24.2017

ElijahFire.jpg

Now is the time to walk in the power of the Lord and not in our own strength. Nothing else will do. Nothing else can reach this generation. Nothing else can bring true freedom. If there is not urgency in your heart for the Lord and a desire to seek the face of God, then now is the time to go to prayer and ask God to restore you and deliver you in the name of Jesus. To God be the glory for what He is about to do through His people.
