Podcast: SER 199 – Catching Ricebirds – Marcus Doe

04.26.2020 SER

Author Marcus Doe was born in Liberia, West Africa in 1979. Affectionately nicknamed “Jungle Boy” by his family, he reveled in his childhood life and was hardly aware of the dangerous political climate swirling around him. But by mid-July 1990, a violent civil war erupted and Liberia was thrown into a time of fear, starvation, and death. Separated from his family, Marcus embarked on a remarkable journey to escape the war-ravaged country he loves and the wounds that he carries in his memory. Marcus came to the US in 1993. Since then he has earned a Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

Marcus’ book is available on his website – https://catchingricebirds.com/ or through other booksellers.

Podcast: On the Objective – The Lord Of The Harvest – Steven Menking – 02.21.2020

02.21.2020

Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles in partnership with Reliance! Continuing our theme of Harvest Time we look to the Lord of the Harvest. Who is the God who we serve? Why aren’t we properly engaged with Heaven’s agenda at this critical moment. Let’s look at prophetic words written centuries before Jesus was incarnated to see the humility and tenderness of His victory, the boldness and power of His might, and the urgency and the conviction of His call. Bless the holy name of the Lord Jesus! He is altogether worthy of our obedience at all times! The scriptures from this episode are from Isaiah 51, Isaiah 53, and Isaiah 55.

Podcast: On the Objective – Harvest Time – Steven Menking – 01.06.2020

01.06.2020

Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles in partnership with Reliance! In this first episode of 2020 Steven shares the word he received from the Lord after praying and fasting at the start of the year. This year the word is Harvest Time. This follows on 2019’s word of being ‘desperately patient’. This is by no means a word of prophecy, but rather a guiding principle to help focus our ministerial efforts here On the Objective. Many have been praying for so long, and we join you in praying that this year will be a time of great fruitfulness. Perhaps at long last it is time for the harvest that the Lord deserves in this generation! The scriptures from this episode are from 2 Corinthians 4.

The Christmas Message – Pastor Carter Conlon – Times Square Church – 12.22.2019

Christmas

Regardless of our views of the nature of the Christmas holiday, it is always appropriate for us to remember the birth of Jesus and what the incarnation means for us today. Jesus is no longer in the manger. He was born a baby with all of the weaknesses and dependency that comes along with that status. He is now ruling and reigning at the right hand of God the Father. Yes, brothers and sisters this is truly good tidings of great joy! Let us abandon the worldly trappings of this season and press instead in towards the Lord who loves us with an unparalleled tenderness and passion. All can come to this faith regardless of where you are. Will you cry out to Jesus and let Him change you during this season? When surrender is accomplished, the results will last for all eternity!

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:

“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

Luke 2:8-14

Podcast: On the Objective – The Heart Of The Harvest – Steven Menking – 10.16.2019

2019.10.16

Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles in partnership with Reliance! We must know – both from scripture and from our own experience – the heart of the Lord. Jesus was moved with compassion when he saw the multitudes weary and scattered. God desires repentance and salvation even for the wicked. In this generation when we have an opportunity to participate in the largest harvest for the Kingdom of God in history many Christians are being rendered less effective because they are overwhelmed by anger at the evil and injustice that has taken place. Zeal is important, but when we undertake initiatives that aren’t primarily in line with God’s heart of compassion we will stumble. The scriptures from this message are found in Matthew 9, 1 John 2, Psalm 37, Ezekiel 18, and Psalm 50.

Jesus In Me – Anne Graham Lotz – Times Square Church – 09.29.2019

2019.10.04

The Holy Spirit is often misunderstood in Christian circles. This is a particularly notable shortfall in the body of Christ. We must be familiar with the person of the Holy Spirit and how He acts both in the Old and New Testaments. If we are truly born again we have the Holy Spirit in us. Every day we have the choice to allow the Holy Spirit to have more control or less control over our lives. For far too long we have decided to focus on the carnal rather than the spiritual – even the carnality of attempting to walk out a righteous spirituality in our own strength. Awake now to the unfathomable blessing of God being for you and with you. Be inspired by the Lord who came for you and loves you beyond compare. Know the Holy Spirit and seek the wisdom and discernment that He provides.

“But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

“I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

John 16:5-15

Podcast: On the Objective – Foolish Controversies – Steven Menking – 08.18.2019

2019.08.18

Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles in partnership with Reliance! It’s time for us to discard the foolish controversies that have beset us for so long. Ladies and gentlemen, brothers and sisters: if the Bible tells us specifically to avoid something because of its harmful effects why do so many rush headlong into it. Either we aren’t aware of the scriptures on the issue or we know but don’t care. Both options betray a failure in our understanding of who God is and provide an indication that we need to make Jesus the Lord of our entire lives. This generation depends on us! The scriptures from this message are found in 1 Timothy 6, 2 Timothy 2, Titus 3, and James 1.

Podcast: On the Objective – All Things Are Made New – Steven Menking – 03.27.2019

2019.03.27

Join us for another Biblical discussion of important spiritual principles! There is an urgent need for the Holy Spirit to fill us with the Godly sorrow that leads to repentance. Many are still stuck in sorrow and unbelief. It’s time to repent, to receive again the joy of the Lord, and to see that all things are made new. This is a critical moment in a critical generation, and we will be held to account for what we do in this hour. Is God who He says He is or not? How long will we remain stuck in fatalism? How long will we flounder in inaction when we should be serving a God who wants to make all things new! The scriptures from this message are found in Psalm 51, Psalm 59, 2 Corinthians 5, and Matthew 9.
